Frequently Asked Questions
Students may add classes for the full semester up to the 5th business day of the full (15 week) term for fall/spring or full (10 week) term for summer. For late start courses, the last day to add is the start date of each shorter part of term.
You may add yourself to the course wait list (only if the wait list is available for the course/section).
Note: Students may receive a reduction in financial aid or be required to return money to DMACC if they drop courses.
Refund deadlines vary based upon the length of the course. View the refund deadlines.
If you have problems logging in or do not know your DMACC Username/Password, ID or PIN number please contact DMACC Tech Support at techsupport@dmacc.edu or 515-965-7300.
Check the registration dates here. You should also check your registration status using Banner Self Service - Prepare for Registration. If you have a hold on your account you will not be able to register.
Your instructor must sign your drop/add form. The form should be submitted to the student services office. More information about this process.
Note: Students may receive a reduction in financial aid if they drop a course.
Two different drop deadlines are:
- Refund deadline. If a student drops a course by the refund deadline, they will receive a tuition credit back to their account. If tuition had been paid, a refund may be issued.
- Withdrawal deadlines are listed on the Academic Calendar. During the withdrawal period, students will not receive a tuition credit/refund. Students who drop after the refund deadline but before the last day to drop/withdraw will have a 'W' grade on transcript.
If you have extenuating circumstances beyond your control, you may meet with an Academic Advisor at a campus near you to request a Petition for Policy Waiver. You must include documentation to support your request.
