Austin Bailey, Executive Chef, Professor
Chef Austin Bailey graduated from the Iowa Culinary Institute Culinary Arts program in 2013 with honors.
After graduating, Chef Bailey refined his knowledge as a cheese monger at The Cheese Shop of DSM and later worked in the kitchen as a Sous Chef. Chef Bailey then moved to Wesley Acres retirement community and worked his way up to Executive Chef soon after, spending 5 years managing a high-volume kitchen, fine dining restaurant, and in-house catering.
Chef Bailey is a sitting board member for Slow Food Des Moines Chapter and has participated in multiple farm-to-table dinners with Des Moines area chefs. Wanting to learn as much as possible about all things related to food, Chef Bailey enjoys volunteering on a local organic farm during the growing season.
