Gourmet Dinners

Iowa Culinary Institute® Gourmet Dinner Series — An unsurpassed gourmet experience.

The Iowa Culinary Institute is very pleased to announce our 2021 French Chef Dinner, a special Take and Bake meal planned by the chefs of L'Association des Cuisiniers de la Loire and prepared by the ICI students under the supervision of Executive Chefs Karla Boetel and Mike Dell. As you know, last January we celebrated the 35th Anniversary of our French Chef Exchange with 36 French chefs and spouses; unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we had to postpone the 35th Anniversary trip to France in May of this year.  We have also had to cancel the 2021 visit of two French chefs to the ICI, but thanks to technology, the French chefs will do a virtual visit—they will “meet" with our students and faculty during a weeklong series of cooking demonstrations, video-recorded in France for the ICI. We are thrilled, because this will allow us to offer our popular French Chef Dinner to our patrons. Since we are doing a Take and Bake dinner, we have decided to offer ONE dinner on Saturday, February 6th that will accommodate double the number of patrons who will be able to participate.  The dinner is priced at $150 per person, as $60 of each ticket is a tax-deductible gift to the DMACC Foundation in support of our annual French Chef Exchange Program.

If you are interested in making reservations for this dinner, please email your request, including your name, the number of tickets you would like to purchase, your home address, telephone number and email address to Denise Moore at ici@dmacc.edu or you may leave a voicemail at 515.964.6655. (Please note the College will be closed December 24th - January 1st.)  Requests will be taken on a first come, first-served basis with preference given to our ICI Toque Society members.

More information on pick-up times for the dinner will be sent out in January to everyone who has registered for this meal. At the ICI, we take the safety of our students, faculty, staff, and patrons very seriously.  We are continuing to monitor the situation and will announce our spring dinner series in January.

Thank you again for your patronage of the Iowa Culinary Institute and our Gourmet Dinners.  We hope that you will join us for our special 36th Anniversary of the French Chef Exchange this February at our virtual French Chefs' Take and Bake Dinner.

If you would like to receive the Gourmet Dinner schedule, please send your request to Denise Moore at ici@dmacc.edu. Please include your first and last name along with your email address.
