Hours may vary when classes are not in session. Please call ahead to confirm hours of operation.
Students will need to bring a photo ID and their DMACC ID number to complete any of the following tests.
Proctoring For:
- Makeup tests for Newton DMACC students (no fee)
- Online and paper tests for Newton-area students taking classes at other DMACC campuses (no fee)
- Online and paper tests for DMACC and non-DMACC students taking classes at other colleges. ($20 fee)
A $20 fee is charged for administration of tests from other colleges.
The fee is payable at the front office prior to taking the test.
Other tests available at the Newton DMACC Campus Testing Center are:
Next-Generation ACCUPLACER® and ALEKS:
Next-Generation ACCUPLACER
(Reading and Writing) and ALEKS testing can be done any time the library is open. Next-Generation ACCUPLACER is a computer-based test with a series of basic skill assessments in reading and writing. The Next-Generation ACCUPLACER
(Reading and Writing) will take approximately one hour to complete.
ALEKS:
The ALEKS math assessment is a web-based program that uses artificial intelligence to map a student’s math strengths and weaknesses. The Placement Assessment is up to 30 questions and generally takes 60-90 minutes to complete.
ACCUPLACER Classic ELL (English Language Learner):
The ACCUPLACER Classic ELL assessments, will take approximately two hours to complete.
TEAS Testing:
The TEAS test is for pre-nursing students and consists of testing in the following areas: English, Reading, Math, and Science. It takes approximately three hours to complete. It is offered on Tuesdays and Wednesdays by appointment only – call 641-791-1731. For more information, refer to the
