Human Subjects Research Oversight

DMACC does not maintain its own Institutional Review Board (IRB). Researchers conducting studies that require IRB review must obtain approval from an external IRB.

Examples of external IRBs include:
• An institution that holds a Federalwide Assurance (FWA)
• An accredited college or university
• A hospital or healthcare system IRB
• An independent or commercial IRB that complies with applicable federal regulations and ethical standards
