Accounting Certificate
Why a Certificate?
- Qualify for a part-time or temporary Accounting Job while continuing your education
- Gain Accounting skills that complements other degrees (example: Office Administration students who want to add basic accounting skills)

Accounting & Bookkeeping Diploma
Why a Diploma?
- Obtain full-time employment after one year of Accounting training
- Perform full-time full-charge bookkeeping and payroll services for small and medium sized businesses
- Master skills such as payroll, spreadsheet analysis, bookkeeping functions and budgets
- Gain proficiency in Computer Accounting packages such as QuickBooks, Peachtree/Sage, and Excel
- Complete in three semesters
- This diploma can be completed in the classroom or online.
Accounting Specialist Degree
Why a Degree?
- Perform all diploma functions plus jobs that require knowledge of

This Associate in Arts transfer degree is designed for students transferring to Iowa State University, the University of Northern Iowa, the University of Iowa, Clarke University, St. Ambrose University or Upper Iowa University to study Business. Requirements may vary at other institutions so students should become familiar with the specific course requirements of the four-year institution to which they plan to transfer.
Accounting is an essential function for small businesses. DMACC offers two certificates to work in specialized areas of accounting. These can be completed in the classroom or online.
Accounting for Entrepreneurs Certificate
- Prepares entrepreneurs for the accounting skills needed in a small business.
- Provides training in payroll, spreadsheet analysis, and budgets.
- Become proficient in computer accounting packages including QuickBooks, Peachtree/Sage, and Excel.
- Perfect for employers who need employees for small business accounting functions.
- Complete in two semesters.
Accounting Payroll Certificate
- Provides you skills in federal and state tax rules and regulations.
- Prepares you to interpret pension plans, benefit plans, garnishments, and stock options.
- Equips you to pass the Fundamental Payroll Certification exam administered by American Payroll Association.
