To better meet the needs of all students, each site will offer classroom instruction covering all 5 areas of the HiSET. Students are required to attend an orientation as well as the HiSET class(es) they are registered for. (Orientation usually lasts between 2 and 3 hours.) Classes are held several times per week over an eight week cycle. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY!

After you register on the HiSET waitlist, you will immediately receive an email from DMACC with instructions on how to complete the Virtual Orientation and Orientation Quiz. Please check your inbox and Spam/Junk Folder for that email. Once you watch the Virtual Orientation and complete the Orientation Quiz, a Career Coach will reach out to you within a week to schedule your CASAS placement tests. After completing the CASAS placement tests, you will be registered for HiSET classes.

Puede hacerlo completamente en Español con el programa Bridges to Success HiSET. Con nuestro programa, usted tomará clases en linea sobre los 5 temas de HiSET.

  5. Artes de lenguaje - Lectura

Estudiará  para los examenes oficiales de HiSET. En las clases, recibirá lecciones sobre los 5 temas y aumentará sus habilidades de escolar. Al pasar los 5 examenes oficiales de HiSET, recibirá su diploma otorgardo por el Departmento de Educación del Estado de Iowa. Ese diploma, reconocido como lo equivalente de un diploma de la preparatoria, vale en todo el pais.

Orientations:
*Newton Campus: 10/26 at 10 am - 1. Room
*Knoxville Public Library: 10/29 at 10:30am-1:30. First Conference Room.

Please call 641-791-1716 to preregister for these events so we can prepare the space for appropriate social distancing.

  • All students are expected to wear a mask at all times while on campus or at Knox Public Library. If the student doesn’t have one, a mask will be provided.

  • Students will be expected to practice social distancing with other students and staff.

  • Each time the student enters the building (for orientation or testing), the student must answer a series of questions related to Covid-19 exposure and risk.

Classes will meet from 11/3-12/17 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. All instruction will be online from 10am-3pm with an hour break for lunch at 12. Attendance is mandatory. Students can schedule times on Tuesdays and Thursdays to visit campus for official and practice testing as needed and approved by the instructor.
