Representatives from approximately 50 criminal justice-related agencies were on hand to talk with students about both job and internship opportunities during the free event.

DMACC is the largest undergraduate institution in Iowa, and the DMACC Criminal Justice program prepares students for careers in a variety of areas, including law enforcement, corrections, homeland security, loss prevention, private sector security, and crime and intelligence analysis.

Canada, who graduated from Waukee (Iowa) High School in May 2023, said she is interested in pursuing a career in law and criminal justice and decided to attend the Career Fair to learn more about opportunities in the industry.

The event was free to attend and open to all current college students, as well as alumni and members of the public. 

Spring 2024 DMACC Criminal Justice Career Fair

Second-year DMACC Criminal Justice student Deighton Doremus (above) of Grimes will graduate from DMACC this May and has already been hired as a full-time dispatcher with the Dallas County Sheriff's Office Emergency 9-1-1​ Communications Division. She wore her new uniform while stopping by the Spring 2024 DMACC Criminal Justice Career Fair on March 7 at the College’s Ankeny Campus.

The Dallas County Sheriff's Office was among approximately 50 criminal justice-related agencies in attendance at the free Career Fair.
