The Financial Aid Process

File your FAFSA (financial aid application) as early as possible. Right now, there is one way you can do this:

TIP: Use the Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) to make filling out the FAFSA even easier!

Planning to start in the Fall of 2023?

Fall 2023 FAFSA

Within 7-10 days after your FAFSA is processed DMACC will reach out to you via your DMACC email address, so check it often.

You will be directed to Banner Self Service (accessible through myDMACC) to view your additional "requirements".

Your financial aid information will be processed after all forms and information that was requested of you have been submitted to the DMACC Financial Aid Office.

You will receive a notification sent to your DMACC email to let you know when you have a financial aid award offer ready to view.

You will be able to review your financial aid eligibility from the state and federal government - such as federal grants, loans, and college Work-Study.

Instructions to Accepting Your Financial Aid Award

  • If you need help understanding your financial aid award, you can get help by contacting the DMACC Financial Aid Office or by accessing the "Financing Your Education at DMACC" (PDF) booklet.
  • New student borrowers will need to complete Loan Entrance Counseling and the Direct Loan Promissory Note. If you do not complete these two important steps, you will not receive the federal student loan offered to you.
