SUMMER 2023 Auditions
Auditions for 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee by Rachel Sheinkin, Music & Lyrics by William Finn, conceived by Rebecca Feldman will be held in the Conference Rooms 1240 A & J in Building 5 on the Ankeny Campus.
- Monday, April 24, 7-9 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 25, 7-9 p.m.

The Conference Rooms are located past Trail Point and around the corner from Café X, and can be accessed from either hallway directly behind the bathrooms.
Music rehearsals, music directed by John Cook will start on May 23
Choreography rehearsals with Michael Tomlinson are still being determined
Blocking rehearsals, directed by Craig Petersen will start on Sunday, June 11; tech week begins on Tuesday July 18, at which time actors and crew can expect more rehearsal meeting dates and times
Performances will be Tuesday, July 25 – Sunday, July 30, with 2 performances on both Saturday and Sunday.
Please know that having conflicts does not preclude you from being cast!

Sides
You do not need to memorize any dialogue, but we encourage you to familiarize yourself with dialogue for roles that you feel you are a strong fit for or want to play. We would also like you to know that it is quite possible you will be asked to read only one of the sides, and you may be asked to read any of the scenes with a wide range of directorial notes. If you feel more comfortable, you may want to print your own sides.
We will have short music selections provided to sing from the show with accompaniment, and we also ask that you have a short selection, about 30-60 seconds, to sing acapella (Happy Birthday, Don’t Rain on my Parade, etc.).
