The Water Technology Program offers two Apprenticeship Certificates.
Wastewater Apprenticeship Certificate
A short-term credit program intended to provide you with the latest information and skills needed to function more effectively in your job or to update your skills for employment possibilities. It will provide you and an employer with evidence of your continued education in a specific occupational area. The education you gain will increase your ability to function in a given area and broaden your skills.
This certificate is designed to be used by an employer to provide related training instruction (RTI) to registered apprentices in the DOL-approved Des Moines Water Reclamation Authority Apprenticeship Program.
Program entry requirements:
- Complete an
application for admission.
- Attend any required information/registration session.
- Recommend completion of a high school biology course or equivalent with a "C" or higher.
These credits are applicable to the
Water and Wastewater Technology diploma and the
AAS degree in Water Environmental Technology.
Water Apprenticeship Certificate

- Recommend completion of a high school chemistry course or equivalent with a "C" or higher.
These credits are applicable to the
Water and Wastewater Technology Diploma and the
AAS degree in Water Environmental Technology.
