​DMACC Healthcare Simulation Center Information

Roles:
The DMACC Healthcare Simulation Center has a variety of different roles who are part of orchestrating simulated learning experiences for learners. These roles include:

  • Simulation Coordinator – Manages the Center. Oversee simulation learning experience to make sure they meet best practice and regulatory guidelines
  • Simulation Faculty –Manage the simulation learning experience for students
    Simulation Technicians- Provide support for simulation faculty, students, and others who participate in simulation learning experiences

  • DMACC Nursing Students
  • DMACC Health Occupations students
  • DMACC Nursing Continuing Education Students
  • DMACC Paramedic Students
  • DMACC Respiratory Therapy Students
  • Des Moines Interprofessional Education Collaborative Students
  • EMS professionals

The Center hosts the following courses/activities

  • National Registry Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic Examination
  • Difficult Airway Course
  • DMACC Career Discovery Day
  • Central Iowa Simulation Network Conference and Workshops
    DMACC Fall Capstone Simulation Event (Hospital Blackout)

The Center is located at the DMACC Capitol Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
