Lori began her teaching career at DMACC in August 1997 as Adjunct faculty in Dental Hygiene. She became a full time instructor in August of 2005, and currently serves as the Chairperson for the Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting programs. She also teaches a variety classes, including Dental Hygiene Seminar and Practicums, Radiography, Periodontology, and Ethics and Jurisprudence.
Education: B.S. in Dental Hygiene from the University of Iowa; M.S.E in Adult Learning and Organizational Performance from Drake University.
Sarah began her teaching career at DMACC in August 2016, and serves faculty member in the Dental Assisting program. She teaches a variety of dental lecture and lab credit classes, both face-to-face and Blackboard blended courses. Sarah had worked for over 10 years in higher education before becoming a DMACC faculty member. She has practiced as a chairside dental assistant for over 30 years.
Education: Diploma in Dental Assisting from Des Moines Area Community College; BA in Education from Simpson College; MPH in Public Health from Des Moines University.
Certificate: Certified Dental Assistant from DANB

Marcia Nithang is the new Dental Assistant Instructor in Bldg. #9 on the Ankeny Campus.
She graduated from Kirkwood Community College’s Dental Assistant program and then went on to earn a BA from the University of Iowa, then graduated from DMACC’s Dental Hygiene program.
