Business Administration Degree Program

The Business Administration program offers the student a number of career and educational opportunities. The curriculum is designed for career oriented students who desire career positions in business; college transfer students who wish to complete a four-year degree; working adults who want to complete their associate degree, gain advancement opportunities, or who are considering a career change.

Unique features of the Business Administration curriculum include: introductory business studies in business administration areas, a complement of arts and science transfer courses, and an Associate in Science degree.

This program helps prepare the student for a career, or should the student decide to transfer to a four-year college, this program provides a curriculum that will satisfy most freshman and sophomore Business Administration requirements of four-year colleges. The Student Development Office can provide course check sheets from the various colleges identifying which DMACC courses should be taken for college transfer. Students planning on transferring to a four-year college should contact a counselor or advisor for course planning assistance.

Reggie Sinha brings in an experiential learning style into his classroom, drawing from his experiences gained over the past 25 years owning and operating several international, domestic and personal businesses. He is a true international professor who readily brings the world into his courses and curriculum, involving students, faculty and DMACC. Currently, he serves as the adviser to the Phi Beta Lambda DMACC Ankeny Chapter and is a member of the Spain International Year Committee.

Additional Activities: 

I began teaching college as an adjunct instructor at DMACC (Urban and Ankeny campuses) with the Fall semester of 2007, and became a full-time faculty member in 2013. I graduated from Iowa State University in 1992 with degrees in Political Science and French (Oui, je parle francais un petit peu). In addition, I received a Masters of Public Administration from Drake University in '98 and a Masters of Business Administration from Drake in '05. I am currently a Ph.D. student at Iowa State University in the School of Education. Before becoming a faculty member at DMACC, I was an Associate Professor of Business Administration at AIB College of Business in Des Moines, IA. Prior to my career as an educator, I was a licensed property / casualty insurance agent for a multinational insurance brokerage firm and also spent five years as a licensed mortgage loan originator.

Beginning in 2013, I became a member of the DMACC faculty. I teach Introduction to Business, Principles of Banking, Introduction to Insurance, Quantitative Methods and the Career Seminar / Internship course.
