**After applying for admission, you will receive a welcome letter and/or email that will include important information such as your DMACC ID number and information on how to log in to your DMACC accounts.
Hang on to this information.**
**As a DMACC student, you will have a DMACC email account. You will receive all correspondence from DMACC via this email account: tuition statements, financial aid information, campus closings, and information from your instructors. It is important that you check it regularly.**
Take the ACCUPLACER®
Submit ACT scores or sign-up to take the ACCUPLACER assessment for reading and writing:
ACCUPLACER can be taken at the Library/Testing Center on the Newton campus on a walk-in basis. No appointment needed.
Regular hours for the Library/Testing Center are Monday-Thursday 9:00am – 6:00pm and Friday 9:00am – 12pm. Students should arrive at least one hour prior to closing time in order to complete the full assessment in one sitting.
Students should bring a photo ID and their DMACC ID number.
There is no charge for the exam.
You may also take the ALEKS (see below) while you are here if you have already applied for admission.
Take the ALEKS Math Assessment through myDMACC
You can do this anywhere that you have internet access.
- Log into myDMACC using your DMACC username and password.
- Click the Student tab.
- Click the ALEKS Math Assessment link, located under Banner Self Service in the left column.
Submit Transcripts
Provide high school and college (if applicable) transcripts to:

Apply for Financial Aid
File for financial aid by completing the
FAFSA online.
DMACC's school code is 004589.
Be sure to return any requests for information that DMACC sends to you; if you want to accept student loans, you will need to go online to do that after you've received your award information from DMACC. For assistance with financial aid, call Jenny Michael in our financial aid office at 641-791-1725.
Complete Online Orientation
Once you've decided on a program of study and have been accepted to DMACC, schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor to complete New Student Orientation & Registration. Call 641-791-3622 to schedule an appointment or stop by the front desk. Welding, Court Reporting, and ECT students must see Nicole Kalkwarf; Nursing and Culinary Arts students must see Jody Stiles. All other students can see either advisor. For programs offered at the Ankeny campus, call 515-964-6200 to schedule an appointment with the advisor for your desired program.
Picture Time
Get your picture taken for your Student ID (DMACC OneCard). This is done at the front desk.
Some programs may have additional entry requirements. Refer to the Program Information Brief or visit with an advisor for additional information on what else may be required.
