DMACC Alum Taufeek Shah will deliver the Metro Commencement Address on May 9 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines
The DMACC Metro Commencement, which includes graduates from the College’s Ankeny, Newton, Urban (Des Moines) and West Des Moines campuses, will be held at 7 p.m. on Tues., May 9, at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
The DMACC Boone Campus Commencement will be held at 10 a.m. on Fri., May 5, in the Boone Campus Gymnasium.
The DMACC Carroll Campus Commencement will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Mon., May 8, in the Carroll Senior High School Gymnasium.
DMACC, the largest undergraduate college in Iowa, is pleased to announce the commencement speakers for the College’s Spring 2023 Metro, Boone and Carroll Campus graduation ceremonies.
DMACC Metro Commencement
The
2023 DMACC Metro Commencement Ceremony, which will honor more than 2,600 students graduating from the College’s Ankeny, Newton, Urban (Des Moines) and West Des Moines Campuses, will take place at
7 p.m. on Tues., May 9, at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. DMACC Urban Campus Business Transfer student Alexi Fernandez will welcome family and friends to the graduation ceremony, and DMACC graduate Taufeek Shah (AA Liberal Arts, 2008) will deliver the commencement address. Shah is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lola’s Fine Sauces in West Des Moines.
The Metro Commencement Ceremony will also be livestreamed online at
graduation2023.dmacc.edu.
DMACC Boone Campus Commencement
The 95th
DMACC Boone Campus Commencement will take place at
10 a.m. on Fri., May 5, in the Boone Campus Gymnasium. DMACC Boone Campus Journalism Transfer student Camry Jones of Okoboji will welcome family and friends to the graduation ceremony, and Abby Howie, Senior Vice President & Market President for Peoples Bank in Boone, will deliver the commencement address.
Nearly 170 Boone Campus students will graduate this Spring. Among them will be Nathan Hobbiebrunken of Nevada, the first-ever graduate of the new
DMACC Power Equipment Technology program on the Boone Campus.
DMACC Carroll Campus Commencement
The
DMACC Carroll Campus Commencement will take place at
6:30 p.m. on Mon., May 8, at the Carroll Senior High School Gymnasium. Carroll Campus Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) President Brianna Wuebker of Carroll will give the student welcome, and Carroll Campus Activities Board (CCAB) member Kayla Mommer of Gilman will give a welcome address. Dr. David Schmid, Program Coordinator and Associate Professor, Postsecondary Education-Student Affairs at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI), will deliver the commencement address.
A total of 85 DMACC Carroll Campus students will participate in the commencement ceremony. Additionally, seven students will graduate from the
DMACC/UNI 2+2 program at the Carroll Campus.
