Des Moines Area Community College is taking precautions to protect our community from the spread of the Coronavirus. The institution takes very seriously the health and safety of our faculty, staff, students, and community. As a result, in recent days we have postponed a number of visit events.
DMACC Urban campus has elected to postponed our 5th Annual African Family Night scheduled for Thursday, March 12th. We are currently working with our event co-sponsors and community partners to identify an alternative date and/or delivery method for this gathering.

Free event is open to all; one $500 DMACC scholarship will be awarded
DMACC Urban Campus will host its Fourth Annual
African Family Night from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, for students and their families.
This free event will provide valuable information on how to pay for college, including how to apply for scholarships and financial aid. Students and their families will also learn about how to enroll at DMACC, receive tips on how to be successful in college, and hear from other students about their experiences at DMACC. A drawing for one $500 DMACC scholarship will take place at the end the program.

The event will be held in Bldg. 1, Rooms 124-126, on the DMACC Urban Campus, which is located at 1100 7th Street in Des Moines. Check-in and a complimentary light meal will begin at 6 p.m., with the program to follow at 6:30 p.m.
