Coaches Needed at Adult Literacy Center

​​Attend an upcoming adult literacy coach training session​​​

Adult Literacy Coaches are needed at the Adult Literacy Center (ALC) at DMACC​, which is located in Bldg. #1 on the DMACC Urban Campus. The ALC serves any adult who needs to improve their reading, writing and/or speaking skills.

Adult literacy coach responsibilities include:

  • ​Attend one 2-hour training session
  • Receive instructions and materials to use when tutoring
  • Meet 90 minutes a week with an assigned adult student at a mutually convenient time and in one of the following locations: Bldg. #1 on the DMACC Urban Campus, an area library or a community center
  • Make a one-year commitment to meet with your assigned adult student

Upcoming adult literacy coach training sessions will be held as follows -- choose one:

  • ​​Wed., Feb. 5th, 1-3 p.m. in Bldg. #1 on the DMACC Urban Campus
  • Thur., Feb. 27th, 4-6 p.m. in Bldg. #1 on the DMACC Urban Campus
  • Tues., March 24th, 1-3 p.m. in Bldg. #1 on the DMACC Urban Campus
