DMACC Commencement Ceremonies

Des Moines Area Community College’s (DMACC’s) Ankeny/Newton/Urban/West Campus 2017 Commencement will take place at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 3 at Wells Fargo Arena.

DMACC Urban Campus student Taha Gesalla of Des Moines will welcome family and friends to the graduation ceremony.  Business Publications Corporation, Inc. President Janette Larkin will deliver the commencement address. More than 2,450 students from the DMACC Ankeny, Newton, Urban and West Campuses will receive awards at the commencement.    

The 89th Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Boone Campus Commencement will take place at 10 a.m., Friday, May 5 in the Boone Campus Gymnasium.  DMACC Boone Campus Management Information Systems student Robert Kitchen of Story City will welcome family and friends to the graduation ceremony.  Dr. Simon Estes, an Iowa native and internationally renowned bass-baritone will deliver the commencement address. More than 260 Boone Campus students will graduate this spring.

The DMACC Carroll Campus Commencement will take place at 6:30 p.m., Monday, May 8 at the Carroll Senior High School. Carroll Campus Student Activities Council (SAC) President Jamie Theulen of Scranton will welcome family and friends to the ceremony.  Phi Theta Kappa President Cara Espinosa of Carroll will deliver the Student Address.  James Bol Chol, who fled South Sudan and eventually graduated from DMACC, is the commencement speaker.  He has founded an organization that collects clothing to distribute to refugee camps around the world. Nearly 65 DMACC Carroll Campus students, 10 Buena Vista University students and ten University of Northern Iowa students will graduate this spring.
