2006 S. Ankeny Blvd.
Sunday, February 26, 2017
1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
(Program starts at 1:15 p.m.)
After nearly two years of construction, DMACC's new 180,000-square-foot complex that connects Buildings 4 and 5 is complete. It houses a food court, book store, student activity space, theater, classrooms and study areas. Trail Point Aquatics & Wellness Center is on the other side of the facility and includes two basketball courts, racquetball courts, two swimming pools, state of the art fitness equipment and a physical therapy center operated by UnityPoint Health – Des Moines.
The facility will strengthen DMACC's student community and help them better connect to the College and their peers. Studies show that increased engagement leads to higher retention and better grades for students. Trail Point Aquatics and Wellness is a community recreation center, open to memberships for area residents. It will be free for students who have paid for six or more credits. The facility will also be used by the Ankeny School District swim teams.
