Voice Lessons and Music Appreciation
Alayna teaches Music Appreciation and Applied Voice. Applied Voice students have the opportunity to sing on
Music at Noon, a formal concert of individual solos, at the end of each semester in the Urban Campus Student Lounge. Miss Perry graduated from Drake University with a Bachelor of Music degree in voice, attended American University in Washington, D.C., received a Master's degree in Music Education from Columbia University and did doctoral work in music iconology at the Graduate Center of City University of New York. She has sung in a variety of performances, some of which were conducted by Leonard Bernstein, Leopold Stokowski, Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel and Sir Thomas Beecham. She has toured extensively in Central and South America. Her additional teaching experience includes a wide variety of classroom, choral, and theater work.
