Leaves

​An employee may choose to take leave, or flex his/her work hours within the same week. A week is defined as Sunday through Saturday.

Vacation Leave

  • All employees can only take vacation leave in half or whole day increments.
  • Vacation leave should be approved in advance.
  • Leave can be reported on the web or on paper using the Request for Leave (P-21) Form.

Sick Leave

  • Support Staff/Confidential Clerical can take leave in hourly increments.
  • Administrative and Faculty need to take leave in half or whole day increments.
  • All employees will need a doctor's statement when sick leave has exceeded four (4) days. If possible, extensive sick leave should be reported to the HR Benefits Coordinator before leave is taken so that FMLA rights can be explained to the employee. Examples would include scheduled surgery, maternity leave or prolonged illness.
  • Leave can be reported on the web or on paper using the Request for Leave (P-21) Form.

Bereavement Leave

  • Support Staff/Confidential Clerical can take leave in hourly increments.
  • Administrative and Faculty need to take leave in half or whole day increments.
  • Leave can be reported on the web or on paper using the Request for Leave (P-21) Form.

Personal Business Leave

  • Support Staff/Confidential Clerical can take leave in hourly increments.
  • Administrative and Faculty need to take leave in half or whole day increments.
  • Leave can be reported on the web or on paper using the Request for Leave (P-21) Form.

Professional Leave

Conference & Meeting Leave

Court and Jury Leave

  • An employee is expected to report to their regular assignment during a normal work day when their presence is not required by the court, unless such time is less than two (2) hours.
  • Leave needs to be reported on paper using the Request for Leave (P-21) Form with a copy of the jury summons attached.
