Assessment Center

DMACC requires assessment of all new full-time students (12 credits or more Fall and Spring semesters, 8 credits or more Summer term). The Assessment Center at each campus provides testing to help students fulfill the admissions assessment requirement. This assessment provides information about students' academic skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. The assessment information is then used in course selection and academic planning.

Briefly, one of the following options is required of students for completing the assessment:

  • Assessment on campus.
  • Submitting an ACT of 19 or higher in reading, writing, and math.
  • Providing evidence of successful College experience in math, reading, and writing courses.

Visit the Assessment Guidelines page for additional details. Visit the Assessment Center Web site for office locations and phone numbers for all campuses.
