DMACC Distinguished Employee Awards

​​​​​​​Award recipients are full-time DMACC employees with at least two years of consecutive se​rvice who embody the mission of the college, produce quality work, and consistently display characteristics valued and appreciated by coworkers.* The 2023 Employee Awards will be conferred at the February 17, 2023 In-Service Day. Nominations must be received by 4:00pm on Friday, January 20, 2023​.

To be considered, nominees should exhibit on-the-job performance that fulfills the following DMACC values:

  • Responsiveness: Reach out actively to serve our communities.
  • Excellence: Ensure accountability, quality, and responsibility in every endeavor.
  • Community: Exchange and communicate ideas and information openly, through collaboration and shared decision-making.
  • Learning: Create a student-centered environment to foster lifelong, accessible and relevant learning leading to career success.
  • Cultural Understanding and Mutual Respect: Value individual rights, privacy and diversity.
  • Innovation: Embrace change and anticipate emerging issues.
  • Professional Integrity: Maintain a high standard of ethics and honesty in professional activities and performance of duties.

Awards

Distinguished Service Award

​Consistently and greatly exceeds the expectation of the position, performing at a level above and beyond normal job requirements and expectations; has made important and significant contributions in their area; contributes and demonstrates commitment to DMACC’s mission and values.

Distinguished Customer Service Award

Consistently and greatly demonstrates an ability and willingness to work positively, respectfully, and effectively with others; has significantly improved customer service or has increased student satisfaction in their area; demonstrates exceptional ability to foster collaboration, communication and cooperation among colleagues and members of the DMACC community.

​Nomination Process

Any current DMACC employee can submit nominations. Self-nominations will be accepted, and all nominations will be confidential. Nominations will be reviewed by the Awards Committee, made up of representatives from administration, faculty, and staff.

Nominators must submit an electronic letter of nomination clearly identifying (using specific examples) how the nominee’s work embodies the criteria of the award and fulfils DMACC’s Values.   

*Nominees must be in good standing (not on an improvement plan) to be eligible for the award. ​
