Instructions for Counselors

In order to maximize course selection and book availability for students, the following deadlines for DMACC PSEO registration for the 2017/2018 school year have been put into place:
Fall 2017 Term - July 14, 2017
Spring 2018 Term - November 17, 2017
No late registrations will be accepted after these dates.

Post Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO)

The Post Secondary Enrollment Act was enacted in 1987 to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wider variety of options to high school students.
(Chapter 261C, Iowa code - Iowa Department of Education)

Des Moines Area Community College strongly supports the State of Iowa's Post Secondary Enrollment Options Act. DMACC is an eligible institution and encourages high school students to take advantage of this opportunity to enroll in college courses while still in high school.

Instructions for High School Counselors

Step 1
High school counselors must complete the following PSEO registration forms:

  1. Notice of Student Registration
  2. Payment and Participation Agreement

If your school does not have a PSEO contract with DMACC, please contact Andrea Jacobsen in Registration at or 515-964-6803. Once that is completed, a user ID and password will be emailed to you. You will use your user ID and password to access the PSEO forms.

  • CRN numbers are required.
  • Student and authorized school official signatures are required. If a student is under 18 years of age then a parent/guardian signature is also required.
  • Incomplete forms will not be processed.
  • Late registrations will not be processed.

Step 2
The above PSEO registration forms must be faxed to: Andrea Jacobsen at (515) 965-7106. All forms must be received by the appropriate registration deadline.

Once all PSEO registrations have been processed counselors will receive confirmation of student enrollment.

Step 3
PSEO books will not be available on campus for pick up. All PSEO books will automatically be shipped directly to your school. Each high school must designate one person at their school to receive the book shipment. Please send designee information to

Step 4
All PSEO books should be returned to DMACC by the high school counselor via UPS. Counselors are asked to return the books in the box they came in. Contact Jeremy Turgasen by email with the number of books they have to send back. Jeremy will have UPS send them a return label via email. Counselors will need to contact UPS or the school's shipping and receiving department for pickup. Students should not return PSEO books to a campus bookstore.
