DMACC Gateway to College (G2C)

Providing a Second Chance to Students At Risk of Dropping Out

MISSION STATEMENT: Gateway to College empowers youth who have dropped out of high school or are not on track to graduate to earn a diploma and dual credit in a supportive college environment.

How It Works

G2C classes are conducted at DMACC campuses. Students have full access to college courses, facilities and support services. DMACC is a member of the Gateway to College National Network.

G2C partners with local schools to provide education and support services. The students receive their high school diploma from local schools and college credit from DMACC. Students graduate from the program when they complete their diploma requirements.

All students begin with the Gateway Foundation in a learning community of 20-25 students. During the learning community experience, students take coursework in reading, math, writing , college orientation, and study strategies. After the Foundation term, (first semester), the students transition to any DMACC campus (called Gateway Continuation) where they continue dual credit coursework necessary to earn their high school diploma.
