DMACC and Microsoft Host Datacenter Academy Open House at West Campus

The free event, hosted by DMACC and Microsoft, was held Wed., April 17th, and more than 40 people from across the Des Moines Metro region signed up to attend. Participants were given a guided tour of the Microsoft Datacenter Academy and had the opportunity to connect with area datacenter technicians and DMACC Career Advisors.

Microsoft donated all equipment in the Microsoft Datacenter Academy's Mock Datacenter Lab​ at the DMACC West Campus. The company, an employer of DMACC Telecom graduates, operates five datacenters in Central Iowa, totaling 2.4 million square feet.​

April 24th: Pre-Finals Week Visit From ARL Therapets at West Campus

Club West invites you to join the fun as we welcome back volunteers from the Animal Rescue League​ (ARL) and their friendly ARL Therapets from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Wed., April 24th, in the West Campus Ellipse. Come pet a dog or two to reduce your pre-finals week stress levels!

April 26th: DMACC Portfolio Day 2024 at Urban Campus

Graduating DMACC students will showcase their portfolios from 2-7 p.m. on Fri., April 26th, at the DMACC Urban Campus​

  • Graduating students from the DMACC Animation, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Photography, Video Production and Web Development programs will participate in Portfolio Day 2024.

  • The theme of this year's event is "Authentic Intelligence" and will explore the intersection of human authenticity and technology.

  • Members of the general public and creative industry professionals are invited to attend this FREE event.

  • DMACC has held Portfolio Day every year since 1972, with the exception of a year during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

DMACC is proud to announce DMACC Portfolio Day 2024, a unique opportunity for members of the public, as well as creative industry professionals, to see and explore the exceptional work of students who are graduating from various DMACC programs this Spring, including Animation, Graphic Design, Interio​r Design, Photography, Video Production​​ and Web Development.

The theme of DMACC Portfolio Day is ​"Authentic Intelligence" and will explore the intersection of human authenticity and technology. The event will take place from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Fr., April 26th, in the Student Life & STEM Center (Bldg. #7) at the DMACC Urban Campus, 1100 7th Street, Des Moines (view campus map). 

Admission to the event is FREE, and everyone is encouraged to attend and engage with the remarkable student portfolios on display.

“These students have excelled in the rigorous demands of the programs and are showcasing their creative talents for the general public, as well as potential employers," said Michael Blair, DMACC Graphic Design Professor.
