World Gone Mad performances at the Des Moines Farmer Market

World Gone Mad, a DMACC-sponsored musical group for hobbyist musicians that plays rock music, will perform three times during the Des Moines Farmers Market on Sat., July 22nd and on Sat., Sept. 9th.  The ensemble will be set up at the corner of Fifth Street and Court Avenue.  This summer’s show includes music from artists such as Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, Chicago, Radiohead, AC/DC, Metallica, Bon Jovi and others.

Participation in World Gone Mad is open to anyone who plays brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments.  Currently, the membership includes DMACC students and staff persons as well as others from the community.  Their goal is to have fun while rehearsing the music and doing free public performances.  Recent performances have been during Newton Fest and Monroe Old Settlers Days.

World Gone Mad rehearses on the DMACC Ankeny Campus from 2 to 5 p.m. two Sunday afternoons each month.  If you are interested finding out more about this group or joining it, please contact Joe, the director, at or go to
