Des Moines Area Community College and Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services are partnering to offer a variety of summer camps for high school students receiving services under an IEP or 504 Plan to become career ready. This summer students will discover their unique abilities and interests, build career readiness skills and their resume, connect with employers, and explore various career paths. Career Readiness Camp
This two-day camp will be offered once in June and again in August and offer: work ethic certification, financial literacy training, career exploration, self-advocacy instruction and tips on how to apply for a job and a mock interview with employer partners.
Students will select one of the two-day camps to attend at a DMACC Campus. Check-in runs daily 8:45-9:00 AM and student pick up will occur between 3:00-3:15 PM. Lunch will be provided. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

Career Discovery Camp
These individual, half-day camps offer students an in-depth look at a variety of career pathways with a business tour, career exploration, education and training information. Students may select more than one camp hosted by local business partners based on their career area of interest. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
Check-in begins 15 minutes prior to the camp start and pick-up will occur within 15 minutes of the conclusion of camp. Lunch will not be provided for the half-day camps.

Volunteer 2 Career
Throughout the summer several half-day volunteer opportunities will be available to show students the connection between volunteering and being a well-rounded job candidate. Volunteerism provides students with skill building, networking opportunities, and provides an additional experience to their resume and cover letter credentials.
