Flu Clinic

​ ​​​Due to the pandemic, DMACC Campus Health has canceled the fall 2020 on-campus flu clinics with Polk County Health Dept.(PCHD) Students/Faculty/Staff are strongly encouraged to receive a flu shot this fall and should reach out to their primary physician, local pharmacy or visit PCHD at 1907 Carpenter ​Ave, Des Moines, IA 50314 to receive a flu shot in a drive in style clinic. The drive in style flu clinics at Polk County Health Department will begin 9/28/20 and will run Monday- Friday from 9am-4pm. Most insurances accepted.​


Flu Vaccine Locations by County

Polk: Will start to administer the flu vaccine on 9/28 in a drive-in style at Polk County Health Dept- (19th and Carpenter), Monday-Friday 9am-4pm. They file insurance. For no insurance they will ask for a donation if possible. No one is turned away for inability to pay. Public flu clinics are few this year and will be listed on their website. 

Boone: Boone County Health will set up a clinic at a location but does not have it available on a walk-in basis. The clinics for the public are set up by the business and are only for the employees. The business is responsible for paying for the vaccine.  Boone County doesn't file insurance. They recommend contacting your primary physician or going to a pharmacy. Call 515-432-1127 for questions. 

Story: Will start to administer flu vaccine on 9/7 at 1114 Duff Ave in Ames. Appointments are strongly encouraged. Flu clinic hours are Monday and Wednesdays from 8am-12:30pm and Fridays from 10am-2pm. Prices are $35 for flu vaccine and $70 for high dose flu vaccine. Cash, check and Medicare Part D are accepted. Marion:  Flu vaccine​s for uninsured individuals. They ask for a donation if possible. Must call to schedule an appointment. Call 641-828-2238 to schedule an appointment or for any questions. 

Carroll: They will be administering flu shots on a walk-in basis. They will file insurance and the cost is $30 for uninsured and private pay. Call 712-794-5279 for questions.  

Jasper: Only has flu vaccine for children. They are recommending that DMACC students/staff receive their flu vaccine from their primary physician or from a pharmacy.  

Dallas: ​They offer flu shots by appointment. No extra clinics scheduled as of now. They only file insurance with BCBS and accept private pay. Cost is $30 per shot without insurance or private pay.
