SHAW works closely with multiple partners across campus to support student mental health. Interdepartmental referrals are provided for students who could benefit from support from offices such as the AAC, Health, Wellness, Academic Advising, Disability Resources/Accommodations, and Housing, to name a few.

Experience & Special Skills: 22 years of professional experience in education including 9 years as Coordinator of Student & Community Resources at DMACC Boone Campus; additional experience includes advising GEAR UP students for Des Moines Public Schools, directing Upward Bound programs for Lone Star College-North Harris in Houston, and working as an academic advisor for Grand View University and Iowa State University. SDV 108 instructor. Mental Health First Aid instructor. I can assist with academic advising, financial aid/FAFSA, and identifying campus and community resources that can support students during their college enrollment.
