14. KOSOVO PRESIDENT AND STATE DIGNITARIES COMING TO DMACC.
The Millennium Foundation Kosovo provided a grant of up to $1 million for 28 Kosovo students to enroll at DMACC and train for careers in Kosovo’s expanding energy industry.

New state program fills the gap in financial aid for high-demand programs.

College’s Nursing program enrollment up 25 percent in past five years.

17. DMACC PRESENTS CONVERSATIONS WITH PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES SERIES.
In 2019, DMACC partnered with Iowa PBS on a new forum series – “Conversations With The Presidential Candidates” – hosted on the DMACC Ankeny Campus. The series provided a unique opportunity for students & community members to hear directly from the candidates including Sen. Cory Booker, former Vice President Joe Biden, former Rep. Beto O’Rourke, Sen. Kamala Harris, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, and former Mayor Pete Buttigieg.

18. DMACC CELEBRATES “THE ART OF IMAGINATION” AT CiLIVE!.
The West Des Moines Campus dedicates its annual ciLive! event. Speakers will include a panel of cast members from the cult-classic film “Napoleon Dynamite,” an Academy Award-winning costume designer, a visual effects supervisor for Marvel Studios, two Discovery Channel program hosts, a NASA project chief and many more.

19. DMACC BOARD RECOGNIZES COACHES FOR THEIR WINNING RECORDS.
Head Volleyball Coach Patty Harrison wins her 700th match and Women’s Head Basketball Coach Steve Krafcisin wins 300th game in 2019.
