David Levy teaches Marketing, Management, Investment, Personal Finance and Economics courses.
Levy has extensive experience working in small businesses and corporations. He spent 25 years working in the energy business and served as Senior Vice President of MidAmerican Energy from 1996 to 1999.
"My experience in business allows me to apply classroom concepts to the real world," said Levy. "I can expand topics from merely theoretical to practical."
Levy also enjoys mentoring DMACC students even after graduation.
"I see that I am impacting the way my students view the world and I am having a positive impact on their lives," said Levy. "I have been contacted by many students after they have left DMACC to seek my advice and to let me know how they are using what they learned."
Levy says one of his favorite moments in the classroom is when students start understanding the "time value of money."
"We discuss how the time value of money or compound interest can be a detriment, but just as importantly, how it can be their biggest asset," said Levy. "The big moment comes when they realize how the time value of money can be used to their advantage and they no longer feel powerless about money."
Travel tops Levy's Bucket List; he'd like to go to Australia, New Zealand and several National Parks. He enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Levy earned a B.A. in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Iowa.
