Iowa New Choices - Who is Eligible?

  • Low income, single parents who have full or joint custody of minor children
  • Low income, single pregnant women
  • Low-income Iowans in Transition who are displaced due to loss of income
  • Female offenders

How do I become a participant?

  • Students are asked to fill out an application and schedule a time for an in-take session.
  • At the in-take session students will need to provide verification of income and will be asked to sign an information consent form & photograph release form.

Student Responsibilities

For students to be considered in good standing with the INC program they must:

  • Be in contact at least once a month with the INC staff.
  • Utilize INC services, such as advising, help with financial aid paperwork, career counseling and planning, life planning, attend program workshops and seminars.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and provide all necessary documentation as required.
  • Be in good academic standing or work closely with INC staff to overcome unsatisfactory academic standing from the past.
  • Maintain at least six credit hours per semester.
