Proctored
Testing
The Urban Des Moines AAC administers the college’s COMPASS placement test. The counseling/advising staff uses the test results to recommend appropriate classes for college applicants to take to successfully complete their desired program of study. Students who wish to “pass out” of specific courses may take challenge tests here. College make-up exams are proctored, and the Center is an official GED testing site.

COMPASS TESTING
- MONDAY through SATURDAY BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
- Call 248-7218 for an appointment.
* No tests will be started two hours prior to closing.
GED TESTING
- Saturday by Appointment only.

Steve Swanson, Test Examiner, oversees COMPASS, GED, College Make-up, and testing for other colleges or universities. Students must make an appointment with Steve to take the COMPASS test. |

Cheryl Gardner is an Administrative Assistant in Room 207 B within the Testing Center. Students start with Cheryl before going to AAC labs. She enrolls students into GED, ABE, High School Completion, Credit Transfer, Pre-Admission and Enrichment classes other than those that are drop-in services. Cheryl also proctors tests, Maintains student records and explains classroom and testing procedures to students. |
