Education Partnerships

University of Iowa 2+2 (2 years at DMACC, 2 years at Iowa)

The 2 Plus 2 Plan is for students who want to earn an associate of arts degree at DMACC before transferring to The University of Iowa to earn a bachelor's degree. The plan connects you with University of Iowa advisors early on so you take the right courses at the right time to complete both degrees in a total of four years.

» The Bachelor of Applied Studies (BAS) program is designed for graduates of community college technical programs (AS or AAS degrees) who wish to complete a bachelor’s degree but, for a variety of reasons, cannot engage in traditional on-campus study.

» The Bachelor of Liberal Studies (BLS) program is designed to serve adults who, for a variety of reasons, might not otherwise be able to attend college as a full-time, on-campus student.

Buena Vista University 2+2 (Newton)

Des Moines Area Community College has an Articulation Agreement with Buena Vista University (BVU). The degree-completion program allows students to take evening or online classes that lead to a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management, Elementary Education, Psychology, Human Services, or Business Administration (online) from Buena Vista University.

University of Northern Iowa 2+2 (Ankeny, Carroll, Boone)

The University of Northern Iowa (UNI) and DMACC offer Education Bachelors degree opportunities through 2+2 programs. Students take two years of classes at a DMACC and two years of classes through UNI. UNI faculty teach all UNI classes either at DMACC, face-to-face, or via distance education (ICN, WebCT).

Iowa State University–Admissions Partnership Program

Students participating in the Admissions Partnership Program experience a smooth and successful transition to Iowa State University. Benefits of the program include personalized mentoring and academic counseling, guaranteed admission to Iowa State University, provided all requirements of the program are met.

Drake University-Transfer Resource Initiative

Under the new Transfer Resource Initiative (TRI) program, you’ll enjoy the benefits of being a student at both schools while you complete your first two years of college at DMACC. At the end of two years, you can earn an Associate’s Degree, then move on to Drake University to complete your Bachelor’s Degree in as little as two additional years.

Grand View College-Transfer Resource Initiative

Under the new Transfer Resource Initiative (TRI) program, you’ll enjoy the benefits of being a student at both schools while you complete your first two years of college at DMACC. Cross Enrollment

Under a special agreement, a limited number of students may enroll in one class each semester with no tuition at Drake University, Grand View College, and Iowa State University.

Business and Industry Partnerships

Principal Financial Group

The Principal Financial Group® (The Principal®), in partnership with DMACC, is proud to offer a new innovative school-to-career program through its Information Technology (IT) and Retirement and Investor Services (RIS) divisions. The program combines core courses at DMACC with Principal-specific courses, offering students a unique opportunity to prepare for their career, directly, in the classroom. Candidates are guaranteed full-time employment* at The Principal upon successful completion of the program, and return of satisfactory background checks and other tests required for the position.

AccuMold-Tool and Die

A partnership between Accumold and DMACC was formed to create opportunity for Accumold to help train the company's future workforce and at the same time help raise the general awareness of the DMACC Tool & Die program. Each year up to 4 scholarships will be awarded.

ASEP

The DMACC General Motors Automotive Service Educational Program (GM ASEP) offers students: Paid work experience at a General Motors Dealership, 2-year Associate of Applied Science Degree, Financial aid and scholarships available to those who qualify, Nationwide participation.

ASSET

The partnership between Ford and Lincoln-Mercury dealers, Ford Motor company, community colleges and technical schools is a two-year program that allows students to earn while they learn and gain hands-on technical experience while earning an Associate's Degree in Automotive Technology.

CAP

The CAP program is a partnership program between DMACC and Chrysler. It is designed to train and employ the industries best automotive technicians.

Caterpillar/Ziegler

DMACC and Ziegler have teamed up to bring you BIG opportunities in the field of diesel technology. Your Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree from DMACC will open doors to an in-demand career in the diesel technology field and will prepare you to work as a service technician.

Machinist Apprenticeship

DMACC’s machinist registered apprenticeship program is looking for companies and individuals within companies that want to participate with a registered program through the Department of Labor. After completion of the complete program you will be a nationally-recognized journeyperson machinist.
