About the Success Center
The DMACC Success Center opened its doors in October of 2002. Located conveniently on Des Moines’ south side, this center provides programming for Youth-at-Risk (YAR), English as Second Language (ESL) and Adult Basic Education (ABE) populations from the metro area and surrounding communities. The center fills the need of local area high schools by assisting drop out students to recover credit and area businesses by providing much needed English acquisition to the labor force.
Last year, the Success Center served over 1200 students. Many of these students come from different countries and ethnic groups, providing the center with a rich mixture of culture and diversity.
Students will find a warm, welcoming environment at the Success Center with excellent instruction and curriculum from a caring staff that will go out of their way to help them succeed. The classrooms are equipped with the latest technology to aid in maximizing learning opportunities. A computer lab with various teaching programs is also available.
