About Diesel Technology
You
may choose to complete either the diploma option or the
AAS degree option.
To receive a diploma, you must complete all of the required courses.
To receive the AAS degree, you must complete all of the required courses plus one of the emphasis plans.

Here are some things you should consider about this program as a career choice:
- Graduates move into management positions in 3-5 years.
- Some positions require a CDL license.
- There is a minimum investment in tools.
- Graduates will usually be required to serve 2-3 years as an apprentice.
- Possess a strong personal commitment to succeed as a technician.
- Average starting salary for Diploma recipients is $20,000.
- Average starting salary for AAS Degree recipients is $22,000.
After completing the Diesel Technology program, you'll be prepared for a career in diesel repair. Here are some examples of the type of work that you'll do:
