Registration

PROGRAM CATEGORIES: There are two separate categories of programs with separate registration times: Arts & Science programs and Career Education programs. Career Education programs have the first opportunity to register because they have less flexibility in course selection.

Programs in the Arts & Sciences category include: Liberal Arts, General Studies, Accounting Information Systems, Accounting Paraprofessional, Business Administration, Chemical Dependency Counseling, Criminal Justice, Fire Science, Human Services, Legal Assistant and any "pre-" major codes, e.g., Pre-Nursing or Pre-Automotive.

Career Education programs include all other programs.

"New Students" include students (1) who are new to Des Moines Area Community College and are new to a program after being accepted into the College for the first time, (2) accepted into a program from a waiting or stand-by list or (3) accepted into a different program after a change of major.

Summer 2008 Registration Dates:

• Returning Career Education:  March 13 - May 27
• Returning Arts and Science:  March 19 - May 27
• New Career Education: March 24 - May 27
• New Arts and Science: March 25 - May 27
• Late Registration: May 28 - June 3

Fall 2008 Registration Dates:

• Returning Career Education:  April 21 - Aug. 23
• Returning Arts and Science: April 24 - Aug. 23
• New Career Education: June 3 - Aug. 23
• New Arts and Science: June 10 - Aug. 23

Full-Time Students
(12 credits or more Fall/Spring; 8 or more Summer)

Part-Time Students
(11 credits or fewer Fall/Spring; 7 or less Summer)

Cross Enrollment

Full-time DMACC students may register for a class at no additional charge at Drake University, Grand View College or Iowa State University.....Go to Details
