DMACC Announces New Student ID Card

In an effort to ensure that Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) offers students more services, the college has partnered with Higher One, Inc. to issue a new official photo, College ID to all credit students, the DMACC OneCard.  This new College ID will provide access to student services such as library resources, campus events, and recreational facilities.  In addition, the DMACC OneCard will provide students with the following financial benefits:

All student financial disbursements, such as refunds and financial aid awards, will now be handled through Higher One. Students will have three different options regarding the way to receive a refund. 1) Students may choose to have funds transferred to an optional checking account, the OneAccount, and you'll receive refunds within minutes of processing. 2) Or, students may elect to have funds transferred to a third-party bank (such as your existing bank account) or 3) students may receive a paper check from Higher One. If you choose the OneAccount service, the card will function as a MasterCard Debit Card that is accepted by over 24 million merchants worldwide. Cardholders can get cash from ATMs, write checks, send and receive money electronically from their accounts, and monitor the details of their accounts online.

I am confident students will enjoy the expanded services that this "all-in-one" card program provides, and I encourage you to take full advantage of its many benefits.

The new cards will be mailed directly to the address students have on file with the college.

If students need to update their address, they should visit the DMACC Web Info System to make changes.  Photos will be taken on all campuses and students can visit the following website for photo taking locations:  www.DMACC.edu/OneCard.  In order to have your DMACC OneCard delivered by the middle of August, all address and photo changes must be completed by July 18, 2007.
