Joy
Harrison
Joy Harrison received both a Bachelor
of Music Education degree and a Master of Music Education degree,
with a vocal emphasis, from Drake University, Des Moines, IA.
She teaches private voice lessons and music appreciation classes
at DMACC. She also teaches music theory, music education,
music appreciation and private voice lessons at Grand View College
in Des Moines, and maintains a private voice studio. Joy
has taught vocal music in the public schools (K-12), and has taught
in the Community School of Music at Drake University. She has
sung with the Des Moines Choral Society as well as several other
professional choral groups. She has been a soloist with
several churches in the Des Moines area and is currently the soprano
section leader at Grace United Methodist Church (grades 3 through
5) at Central Presbyterian Church. She is a member of NATS
and MENC.
