Bus Service to Ankeny and Urban Campuses

 

There are two stops located within the DMACC Ankeny Campus. The DMACC Urban-Ankeny Shuttle Bus and the #98 Ankeny Express will make the following stops inside the Ankeny Campus:

Southside of Campus Stop Location for Mid-Day DMACC Shuttle

The bus will pull into Parking Lot L and stop near the entrance of Building 3W.
Students may wait inside of 3W or under the awning at the entrance of 3W.
When they see the bus enter Parking Lot L they should head out to board the bus. Buses arrive at Apprx. 11:10/12:10 and depart at 11:16/12:16.

Northside of Campus Stop Location for #98 Ankeny Express is between Lots H & K on main road through campus near Buildings 9 and 13

Students are responsible for making certain that they are aware of the posted pick-up and drop off times; or call DART at 283-8100 for information.

Buses traveling North (morning runs) through the Ankeny campus will stop at the pedestrian crosswalk between Lots H & K near Building 9 at 6:38 am (this bus leaves downtown Des Moines at 6:18 AM – the other Des Moines TO Ankeny bus leaves downtown at 6:40 and will drop passengers off at the East Entrance to DMACC on Ankeny Blvd). Buses traveling South (afternoon runs) through the Ankeny campus will stop at the pedestrian crosswalk between Lots H & K near Building 13 at 4:33 and 5:16 pm. Buses WILL NOT wait for students to come out of buildings – you must be AT THE STOP prior to pick-up time. The #98 will also stop at the East Entrance traveling south at approximately 5:35 pm and 6:00 pm.

Following are the ways to take the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) to the DMACC and Urban campuses.

 

#98 Ankeny Express
The #98 Ankeny Express provides bus service between Ankeny and downtown Des Moines in the early morning and late afternoon. This route stops on campus and at the East Entrance of the Ankeny Campus on Ankeny Blvd. at designated times. See above for times and stop locations. Mid-Day DMACC Ankeny-Urban Shuttle
Twice mid-day, the DART will run a special shuttle between the DMACC Ankeny and Urban campuses. To make efficient use of the buses, and to assist the public in using other DART routes, the shuttle will leave the Urban campus, come through the Ankeny campus, and then drive to the 6th & Walnut Metro Transfer site. This route will only run Monday-Friday on student contact days.
Location of stops:
Outbound to Ankeny – leaves 6th & Walnut (going north on 6th Avenue by US Bank) at 10:45 and 11:45, arrives at 6th & Laurel (Urban Campus) at 10:47 and 11:47, then arrives at Lot L at the Ankeny Campus at 11:10 and 12:10. Inbound from Ankeny: Leaves Lot L at 11:16 and 12:16, arrives at 7th & Laurel (Urban Campus) at 11:35 and 12:35, then arrives at 7th & Walnut at 11:41 and 12:41. DMACC Shuttle Schedule

Urban Campus Route #3, #5, and #6
These three routes all go past the DMACC Urban Campus. Routes #5 and #6 travel on 9th Street; Route #3 travels on 9th Street and on 6th/7th. Call 283-8100 for times.

West Campus Service
The West Des Moines DART On Call shuttle service provides curb-to-curb transportation within the West Des Moines On Call service area (see map). The shuttle can take passengers from any location within the service area to DMACC West Campus. Service is available seven days a week (no holiday service). Hours: Monday through Friday - 6:30 am to 7:00 pm; Saturday - 8:30 am to 6:00 pm; Sunday - 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. To schedule a ride, call DART On Call at 515-283-8100. Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH)
Have a personal emergency while at school?
Guaranteed Ride Home is a form of insurance for commuters who regularly use the DART. To qualify for GRH you must:
• Be a monthly bus pass hold or participate in a DART vanpool.
• Ride an Express, or On-Call route.
• Have a personal emergency. This does NOT include scheduled appointments.

ADA Concerns
