Instructor Ron Anderson
I grew up on a farm near Humboldt, Iowa and graduated from Webster City High School in Webster City, Iowa in 1966. I enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1972. It was from this experience that exposed me to the HVAC-R career field. Although my Air Force assignment was Aircraft Mechanic on F-111's, the position wasn't considered applicable to civilian life Since I was stationed overseas during the Vietnam War, I qualified for Project Transition which was designed to give returning vets a opportunity to learn a skill that would help them secure a place of employment after their enlistment was over. I chose the HVAC-R career field from a long list of choices and after 13 weeks of training headed to Denver, Colorado for my first position in Heating and Air Conditioning. I moved back in Iowa, (by choice). After 32 years in the maintenance and service industry, I have worked on HVAC equipment ranging from residential window units to 50-ton chillers. I have worked all positions in HVAC-R from sheet metal worker to owner of my own company for 12 years. I have spent most of my time as a Service and Installation Manager. During this time, I was fortunate to be able to take advantage of my GI bill and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science's and Education from the University of Colorado at Denver. I enjoy the teaching profession most of all and hope you will also chose the HVAC-R career field and start your adventure to a very rewarding career. Ron Anderson HVAC-R Instructor
