TPI, located in Newton, Iowa, is a lead developer and volume manufacturer of large- scale composite structures for the wind energy, transportation and military vehicle markets. The company's technology excels where high strength, light weight and durability are needed. Our new wind blade facility in Newton will be completed later this summer.
CAD Designer
Duties include the following:
Use computer assisted design/drafting (SolidWorks CAD) equipment and software to
develop designs including jigs & fixtures for wind blade fabrication plus 3D blade surfaces for fixture design.
Prepare routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches & diagrams. Details to include all views and dimensions necessary for manufacture.
Education/Experience:
Associate's degree in Computer Aided Drafting and 6 months of related experience; high skill level in SolidWorks CAD software.
Strong math skills
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Solid understanding of drafting techniques, engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
