Course Policies |
||||
|
Attendance |
I
do not have an attendance policy, however, it only
makes sense that success and attendance have a direct relationship. |
|||
|
Grading criteria |
Tests,
quizzes, group assignments, individual assignments and peer evaluations will
make up your final grade. You should
maintain a record of your test and quiz results in order to evaluate your
progress at any given time. I use a
straight percentage grade method with flexibility.
Also I will give plus/minus grades. This method will be explained the first day
of classes. There
will be four exams each worth 100 points.
Quizzes will be worth 10 points each and will be given once a
week. The two lowest quiz scores will
be dropped from your grade. Group and
individual assignments will be worth 5 points each. You
may use notes on yellow paper, hand written outside of class on examinations
and quizzes. You will be
placed in groups the first week of class.
If you are dissatisfied with your group, you will be allowed to do
group work individually. |
|||
|
Classroom guidelines |
If a student is absent on a quiz day, that student NOT be allowed to make up the quiz. |
|||
|
Missed exams |
If a student is absent on a test day, that student NOT be allowed to make up the test, unless
the instructor has been contacted prior to the time of the test. A reason for the absence must be given at
that time. Everyone will be expected to take the final exam on the
scheduled date and time. |
|||
|
Late assignments |
Are not accepted |
|||
|
Study expectations |
There
will be time allowed at the beginning of each class for answering questions
on the assignment from the previous class.
Participation in classroom discussions plays an important part in
identifying your strengths and weaknesses.
Therefore, you should feel free to ask questions and volunteer
information whenever appropriate. Generally, assignments will be given on a
daily basis. It is a must that you do
your daily assignments in order to do well in this class. |
