Background Information
Russell E. Holmes joined the faculty of
the Des Moines
Area Community College as a full time instructor in January, 2004. He received his Associate of Arts Degree from
the North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City, his Bachelor of Arts
Degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, his Master of
Science Degree from Iowa State University in Ames and his Juris
Doctorate Degree from Drake University School of Law in Des Moines.
From 1989 through 1995 he had a private
law practice in the Des Moines and Ankeny area. From 1996 until the end of 2003 he was the
Executive Director of the Legal Aid Society of Story
County in Nevada,
Iowa. He has taught business courses since 1977
(when he worked at the American Institute of Business in Des Moines) and has
taught either full time or part time at Des Moines Area Community College,
Drake University, and Simpson College.
