| An introductory course intended for system administrators providing training in detecting and analyzing data stored or often hidden on computer systems. The course prepares students to use computer forensics tools to uncover violations of company policy, embezzlement, e-mail harassment, leaks of proprietary information, and criminal activity | ||||||||||||||||

| Attendance: | Absence should be in the case of emergency only. Please contact instructor if you know in advance that you are going to be gone. It is the responsibility of the student to contact fellow students regarding missed lecture notes, and to obtain handouts from the instructor. Participation in class activities and discussion are important to the learning process, failure to attend may result in loss of points awarded for participation. | |||||||||||||||
| Late Assignments: | Each assignment will have a due date, 10 percent will be deducted each day an assignment is late. No credit after assignment is 10 days late. | |||||||||||||||
| Expectations: | Students are expected to have completed any assigned readings in preparation for class and be prepared to discuss the assigned material. | |||||||||||||||
| Exams & Quizes: | No make up Exams or Quizes will be given, except in cases of extreme circumstances to be determined by the instructor. A zero score will be awarded for missed Exams or Quizes. | |||||||||||||||
| Grading: |
Based on percentage of points possible accumulated throughout the course. Points will be awared for Exams, Quizes, assignments, and participation. A = 93-100%, A- = 90-92%, B+ = 87-89%, B = 83-86%, B- = 80-82%, C+ 77-79%, C = 73-76%, C- = 70-72%, D+ = 67-69%, D = 63-66%, D- = 60-62, F = 0-59% |
