Course Information

An object oriented language will be used to introduce commonly used data structures. Programs using these data structures will be developed, written tested, and debugged.

JGrasp & Microsoft Office: If you do not have PowerPoint or WORD, you can purchase the Microsoft Office Suite at the DMACC bookstore for approximately $10 (Check with bookstore for current price).

Course Policies

Attendance:

Absence should be in the case of emergency only. Please contact instructor if you know in advance that you are not going to be able to access WebCT for more than one or two days.

Late Assignments:

Each assignment will have a due date, 10 percent will be deducted each day an assignment is late. No credit after assignment is 10 days late.

Expectations:

Students are expected to have completed any assigned readings and utilize the WebCT Discussion Board to ask questions. Post any "public" type questions under "Ask Questions" under "Discussions" on the course site. DO NOT share code or test questions with other students (See Academic Dishonesty below). Only use the e-mail in your DMACC Webmail account to contact the instructor or to ask "private" questions about the course assignments. mlgardner@dmacc.edu

Exams & Quizes:

No make up Exams or Quizes will be given, except in cases of extreme circumstances to be determined by the instructor. A zero score will be awarded for missed Exams or Quizes.

Grading:

Based on percentage of points possible accumulated throughout the course. Points will be awared for Exams, Quizes, assignments, and participation. A = 93-100%, A- = 90-92%, B+ = 87-89%, B = 83-86%, B- = 80-82%, C+ 77-79%, C = 73-76%, C- = 70-72%, D+ = 67-69%, D = 63-66%, D- = 60-62, F = 0-59%
