HTML (HyperText Markup Language) Assignment

Objective:

This project will allow you to use a selection of HTML tags to create a Web page that displays an image and text. 

 

Preparation:

Read the HTML Guide that explains the tags you will use for this project. You should also refer to the Getting Started document. Both of these documents can be located in the Assignments section.

 

Directions: 

1.    Use Notepad to create a new file called Bank.htm (1 point)

2.      The title of the page should be 'BCA113-your name-HTML Project'. (2 points)

3.       Make the following text Heading 1: Merger Bank (1 point)

4.      Center it on the page. (1 point)

5.      Insert a blank line. (1 point)

6.      Make the following text Heading 3: Grand Opening (1 point)

7.      Center it on the page and underline it. (2 points)

8.      Use Comic Sans MS font for both headings and make the font color cyan for both. (4 points)

9.      Insert a horizontal line after the heading. (1 point)

10.   Insert the image of a Bank or lending institution and center it on the page under the heading.  Look for a Bank picture on the internet or clip art.  (5 points)

11.    Insert a horizontal line after the image. (1 point)

12.   Insert the following text paragraph after the image: Hi!  Welcome to the Merger Bank of Iowa.  We used to have a name that had been around for 30 years.  No longer!  We have a new name and new owners.  We now offer new services at new service charges.  Check out our competitive fees. (4 points)

13.   Insert a blank line. (1 point)

14.   Insert the following text - You are invited to attend our Grand Opening.  This is your chance to talk to our staff about any changes in services and fees.  Check out our new limited hours and new checking account options.  We think you will like what you see!  Come visit us Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  Refreshments provided.  We hope to see you there! (4 points)

15.   Insert two blank lines. (2 points)

16.   Insert the following text - For more information, please e-mail us at mergerbank@iowabank.net (2 points)

17.   Make the underlined portion an e-mail hypertext link. (5 points)

18.   Center the sentence on the page. (1 point)

19.   Insert one blank line. (1 point)

20.  Insert the following text - Created by students at DMACC (1 point)

21.   Center it on the page. (1 point)

22.  Make the text two sizes smaller (-2) than the normal text. (2 points)

23.  Make the word DMACC a hypertext link to the DMACC home page. (6 points) 

 

Submit Bank.htm

 

  1. Upload your bank files to the UCWS01.DMACC.EDU server site assigned by the instructor.
  2. Display your work via Internet Explorer
