Personal Web Page Assignment

As discussed in Chapter 2 of the text, the World Wide Web (WWW) is comprised of Hyper-Text Markup Language (HTML) documents. HTML is the basis for most information on the Internet, but a surprisingly small percentage of the population knows how it works. We will review the fundamentals of web page design and create our own personal web pages.

Assignment:

Create a homepage using a simple text editor (ie Microsoft Notepad or MS-DOS Editor) to create a homepage for yourself. Do not use an html like Microsoft Word and its "Save As HTML" feature.

The best homepages are the ones that are about you and what you find interesting.

Requirements:

  • The HTML must be written in a simple text editor.
  • Must have your name near the top of the page.
  • Homepage must have 5 active links.
  • Send the web page to me at kjderoos@iastate.edu.
